Getting Started
Create an Account
Your free I-play account lets you take advantage of all of the free benefits such as saving your scores and other achievements, chatting while you play, creating a Player Pic, collecting Player Miles, and more!
To create an account, click the Register button at the top right corner of I-play to get started. On the Sign In page, select Register Now.
During registration, I get the error say that my Player Name is unavailable. Why?
If you are receiving a message saying that your desired Nickname is unavailable, the Nickname is already in use. Please choose another.
Finding the Newest & Best Games
I-play features the newest and best titles available. Visit "Featured Top Games", "New Games" on the home page for recommendations or browse games by genre to find your favorites.

Why can’t I change my Nickname?
For security purposes, users may not change their nickname on I-play.
Avatar
What is an avatar?
Your avatar is your personal "game face" at I-play. It is your identity and will usually follow you through the entire I-play experience, displaying on the I-play site. Visitors can view your avatar by clicking your nickname in chat.
How do I customize my avatar?
Visit your profile and choose "My Avatar". Select from different faces, hair, accessories & backgrounds. Check back often for new ways to update your avatar.
Can I upload my own photo as an avatar?
No. However, you can personalize your avatar! Visit your profile and select from different faces, hair, accessories & backgrounds. Check back often for new ways to update your avatar.

What are Tokens?
Tokens are awarded when you play free single and multiplayer high score games.
How do I get tokens?

High Scores
Do all games support High Scores?
High scores are available when you play high score games. New games that support high scores are added often so make sure to check our High Score Games Category from time to time.
How can I see my High Scores?
There are a few ways to see your high scores.
Your game high score will appear in the Recent Games section of your Passport. In addition, you can look on the High Scores page for a particular game to see how you compare to other I-play members.
While playing a game, your most recent score will appear next to your name in the game shell, even if that is not your highest score.
How can I see the top scores or ratings in the I-play community?
There are two ways you can see a game's community high scores board.
For both multiplayer and single player high score games, you can:
  1. Click on the high score icon from within the game you are playing. (To avoid interupting your gameplay, the High Score page will load behind your game.)
  2. Click on the High Scores link from the game description page.
How do multiplayer ratings work?
I-play use's the ELO rating system in its multiplayer games. This is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players. You begin at 1200 and your rating will increase if you win, decrease if you lose. The amount your rating goes up or down is based on the difference between your rating and your opponent's.
Recent Games
How does My Recent Games work?
Recent Games displays all the games you have downloaded or have played online and achieved a high score on in one convenient place. It also displays any trial time that remains on every game and whether or not it was purchased. Click Play on any game listed and it will automatically launch that game.
Playing Online
General
Can I play online games without registering?
Yes. However, guests are unable to chat, save scores, earn Tokens or use any of the other free features available to I-play members.

As an I-play member, can I play as a guest?
Yes. If you do not log in, you can play as a guest. However, guests are unable to chat, save scores, earn tokens or use any of the other free features available to I-play members.
What is a High Score Game?
Each time you play a High Score online game, your high score will be recorded and matched against other members high scores for this game. Look for the high score icon!
What are lobbies & rooms?
After choosing a game you will see the game lobby. Here you select from all the rooms available for this game. Pick the room that suits you the best and play. If you are in a multiplayer room you will choose a table to start. Good luck!
What are the system requirements to run games from I-play?
Each game has its own set of requirements in the game’s profile page. When you click on the game image, you'll be able to get to the game’s profile page and read about the system requirements of each game and make sure that your system is compatible.
Why are there ads on online games?
I-play's single and multiplayer online games and features are sponsored so that games can be provided at no cost to you.
If I click an ad will my game be interrupted?
No, you can click on any ad and your game will not be affected.
I am looking for my favorite game, but can't find it.
Periodically, an online game may removed temporarily from I-play for quality assurance or retired due to low interest. Check back often to find the game or send an inquiry to Customer Support.
How do I find games by style or genre?
Search by genre by selecting games by category listed at the top of the page OR select the "All Games" tab at the top of the page.

What should I do if I tried to play a game online, but I get only a blank screen or a black screen with a red cross?
In order to run this game you must make sure your computer has the latest version of these components installed: Java, Flash and Shockwave
Why can’t I see the full screen when playing single and multiplayer games?
It is recommended that you increase the resolution of your screen to be able to see the entire window to play and chat. To do so, please right click on your desktop and select "Properties". Then click on the term called "Settings" and move the "Screen Resolution" cursor toward "More". Click on "OK". Also, please set your monitor to 1024x768.
How do I report someone for harassment or abuse?
To report a player who is harassing you or using abusive language, click on the player's name in the chat area. You will see a link to Report Abuse under the name. Please note that reports are answered directly and are often resolved internally within customer support. You can also ignore the individual or turn off chat completely.
Online Game Features
Friends List
How do I invite a user to be my friend?
To send a friend request, click on the user's name in the game shell. From the chat balloon, click Invite to Become Friends.
How will I know if a users accepts my friend request?
On the private tab, there will be a message that will let you know whether the user has accepted or rejected your friend request.
How can I tell if my friends are online?
On your Friends List tab, you can see all of your friends and who is online.
Can I invite a friend to play with me?
There are two ways to invite your friends to play with you.
  1. Select the Mail icon at the top of the game window to send an email to a friend and invite them to play.
  2. If your friend is online and on your Friends List, you can send an invitation to play using the Invite to Play feature of your Friends List.
Can I invite a friend to watch me play?
Yes. Once you are at a table, go to your Friends List and click on the person you'd like to invite to watch you. From the chat balloon, click Invite to Watch.
What happens if I accept an invitation to play or watch?
You will be directed to the table of the person who invited you as either a player or watcher (whichever you were invited as).
Note: Be sure you have ended any games you are currently playing. You will forfeit any games you have not finished.
Can I remove users from my Friends List?
Yes. From your Friends List, click on the name of the user you wish to remove. From the chat ballon, click Remove From Friends List.
Can I ignore invitations from users?
Yes. To ignore invitations from users you do not wish to interact with, add the user to your ignore list.

Where can I see the status of my ignored users?
On your Ignored List tab, you can see all of your ignored users and whether they are online or not.
Will users know if I am ignoring them?
Users on your ignore list do not know that you are ignoring them. They can talk to you, invite you to play with them, or send you a private message, but you will not see any of their requests.
Can I have a private conversation with someone?
To send a private chat request, click on the user's name in the game shell. From the chat balloon, click Private.
What does Lock Table for Players mean?
While in a game table, you can choose to lock it for players. This means only users that you invite to play can with or against you.
Note: Users will still be able to join to watch your game.
What does Lock Table for Watchers mean?
While in a game table, you can choose to lock it for watchers. This means only users that you invite to watch can join as an observer.
Note: Users will still be able to join to play with or against you.
What happens when I click Go to [user]'s room?
You will find this option within the game shell's chat balloon. When you click Go to [user]'s room, you will be redirected to the room your friend is in.
Note: Be sure you have ended any games you are currently playing. You will forfeit any games you have not finished.
How many users can I have on my friends list?
At this time, you can have up to 5 users on your friends list.
How many users can I have on my ignore list?
At this time, you can have up to 50 users on your ignore list.
Chat
Using I-play's free In-Game Chat service
Free In-Game chat is provided on free single & multiplayer online games. Enjoy this feature or "mute" chat if you prefer to focus on your game!
Why are my chats blocked?
This could happen for a few reasons:
  • You may be logged in as a guest. Only logged-in users are able to chat.
  • You might be under the chat age limit.
  • You may have disabled chat under your chat preferences. If you have been banned you should have received an email.
  • You may have been banned for inappropriate behavior in the chat rooms.
How do I ignore a user?
To add a user to your ignore list, click the user's name and then click the ignore button in the game shell. You can un-ignore someone by repeating this. Ignored users will have their name appear in grey on chat room list.

Invite a Friend
Can I invite a friend to play with me?

Can I play games with friends?
Many great head-to-head games are available on I-play. Try a hand of Texas Hold 'Em or play a round of Darts with your friends when you click on the Multiplayer tab from the I-play site or play any single player game and chat with friends while you play!
No one to play with? Just click on any game and go to a game room where you can meet and chat with hundreds of other players who are looking for fun.
Members Only Rooms
I am unable to access a Members Only room. Why?
Members Only rooms are available to I-play members only. If you are not an I-play member, sign up today!
If you are an I-play member, please make sure that you are logged into your account.
Playing Downloadable Games
General
How do I download games?
On each game page, click the 'Download' button. When asked whether to open or save the file, click the 'Open' button to proceed. A short installation procedure will run automatically on your machine. Continue following the instructions and you will be playing in a minute or two!
How do I buy a game?
After you have successfully installed the downloadable trial version, click on the "Buy" button on the game's launcher.
How can I play the downloaded version of a game once I have purchased it?
Click on the game icon on your desktop. When you purchased the game it should have been unlocked automatically, and its full version should be ready to play. If the game wasn't automatically unlocked, simply enter your registration keys, which was sent to you in your confirmation email.
To enter the registration key:
1. Go to your confirmation email. (This is the email that was sent to you to confirm your purchase of the game.)
2. In that email, you will find the Registration Key. The Registration Key is a special code of numbers and letters. Copy the Registration Key.
3. Open the game.
4. Click on the button that says, Enter Registration Key.
5. Enter the Registration Key in the space provided.
How can I play the game after installation?
After your installation has been completed, a shortcut icon should appear on your desktop. Double click on this icon to start playing.
What are the system requirements to run games?
Each game has its own set of requirements in the game’s profile page. When you click on the game image, you'll be able to get to the game’s profile page and read about the system requirements of each game and make sure that your system is compatible.
Payment & Registration
How do I get my game's Registration Key for a game I purchased on I-play?
Once you have purchased the game, a registration key will be provided to you in a confirmation email . Follow these steps:
1. Copy the Registration Key.
2. Open the game.
3. Click on the button that says Enter Registration Key.
4. Enter the Registration Key.
What should I do if I can't buy a game from I-play because I receive an error message?
Contact us as soon as possible with the exact error message you receive. Technical Support will assist you to help solve the problem so that you can enjoy the game.
What should I do if I didn't receive a confirmation email and don't have a registration key for a game I purchased on I-play?
If you purchased the game from I-play, a confirmation email was sent to you. If you have not received your confirmation you may have entered a wrong email address or there may be a problem with your email.

What should I do if I purchased a game from I-play and it doesn't work?
Please do not try to purchase the game again. You can try to download the game a second time and open it. If the game still does not work, check these FAQs for possible troubleshooting resolutions. If you continue to have difficulty, click here to contact a customer support representative.
What should I do if my registration key doesn't work and the game says: 'Wrong Email or Key'?
Your registration key can only be used on the same computer that you used to purchase the game. The registration key will not contain the letter 'O'; however, the key may contain the number zero (0). To avoid mistakes, copy and paste the registration key and the email address from your confirmation. If you continue to get an error, please contact us and provide full details of your purchase (email address you used when purchasing, order number, game name, etc) and the exact error messages that you are receiving.

What can I do if the game I purchased runs very slow?
Make sure your computer meets the game's system requirements. Then, close all other applications. You may need the restart your computer and try again.
What should I do if I am trying to play a game I purchased and my screen goes black and the game doesn't appear?
It is possible that you do not have the latest version of DirectX installed on your computer. Please visit Microsoft's DirectX download center and follow the instructions to install DirectX.
What should I do if the game I purchased doesn't start or doesn't run well?
Many problems can be solved by uninstalling and then downloading the game again. The game may not start or run well due to old or corrupted files. In order to make sure you have a fresh download, you may need to clear your browser's cache. While downloading a new version of the game, do not interrupt the download. Ensure that no other programs are running when you install the game.
What should I do if the game's graphics or sounds are not functioning properly on the game I purchased?
Make sure your multimedia drivers are updated. If not, install the latest drivers from the website of the video or sound card's manufacturer. If that still doesn't work, contact technical support for further assistance.

How GameSaver Works
As a GameSaver member, you receive one free downloable game every month. Each month you will receive an email at the address associated with your GameSaver account that informs you of your new monthly credit and reminds you to choose your free game.

Pick a game, login to your GameSaver account at checkout, click Get Free Game, and your free game will begin downloading. Each free game credit is remain available for 2 months before it expires. When your membership expires or is cancelled, any free game credits that are unused will expire 90 days from the date they became available.
Cancelling Your GameSaver Membership
To cancel your GamesSaver membership, click here. You may be prompted to log into your account.

Cancel at any time. If your minimum membership commitment has been met, you will not be charged further. Any remaining free game credits can be redeemed for a period of 90 days after they were first made available. If you have not satisfied your minimum membership commitment, any months remaining will be immediately charged to your credit card, and the free game credits your GameSaver membership entitles you to can redeemed for a period of 90 days before they expire.

All downloadable games you've redeemed during your GameSaver membership are yours to keep.
Can I cancel before my commitment is over?
Yes, you may cancel your GameSaver membership at any time.
